Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr/ Salim Al-Mughals – Governor of Taiz Governorate – in coordination with the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation and in the presence of the representative of the Supreme Council Mr/ Mushir Al-Hashemi, and also in coordination with the General Director of the District ,the Chairman of the Local Council Mr/ Mansour Saddam, and in the presence of directors and members of development committees For targeted subdistricts and villages in the Taizzyah, the Millennium Development Foundation (MDF) held the orientation workshop for the project of supporting resilient livelihoods and food security in Yemen (Rural Resilience 2) in the District of Taizzyah / Taiz Governorate, which targets the most vulnerable and displaced people in the District which is implemented by the Millennium Development Foundation (MDF) funded by the United Nations Development Program.
The clarification and explanation of the project was initiated by eng / Waheed Alie – the project officer – as he clarified everything related to the project and the stages of implementing for the activities of the Rural Resilience Support Program in Yemen – the second phase- after the successful implementation of the project by the partners in its first phase, which includes several sectors, including: Improving livelihoods for the most vulnerable and displaced groups in the district of Taizzyah, as well as providing solar lanterns for the groups that need to be provided with solar energy for use in lighting and charging. Also training beneficiaries in running businesses and rehabilitating some of the markets in the region.
At the end of the workshop, the attendees expressed their great satisfaction for the start of the project and appreciated the efforts that were made and will be made to make the program that serves the region a success. They also thanked the project manager Mr. Abdullah Al-Junaid and everyone who has contributed and will contribute in the service of the people of the region . They finally promised that they will cooperate to make this program successful.
