About us

The Millennium Development Foundation (MDF) is a non-governmental,voluntary ,independent established in 2003 and officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license no(179)

.MDF is specialized in sustainable development, and works on conducting several development activities, such as capacity-building, training, spreading awareness, providing consultations, conducting field surveys and studies, managing productive projects, rehabilitating people affected by natural and human disasters and implementation of child protection programs.

Programmes

Since the establishment of the Foundation in 2003, the Foundation has sought to engage in serving the needs of all in all sectors, and interaction increased in recent years due to the circumstances of the war.

Education

Education in Yemen: More than 2 million children and girls are still out of school, mostly girls. According to UNICEF, the dropout rate for pre eight-grade is above 40% for girls.


Food security&Livelihood

Food insecurity in Yemen: More than 41% of the population of Yemen suffer from food insecurity, which is approximately 10 million six hundred thousand people.


WATER&SANITATION

Water Situation in Yemen: Yemen suffers from a severe water shortage, where more than 150% of its renewable water resources are used each year. Only 22% of the population has access to drinking water.


Shelter&Non-food items

Promotion of the decent lives of the displaced, affected and poorest families by supporting shelter materials


Health&Nutrition

Health and nutrition situation in Yemen: The health sector in Yemen still suffers from many challenges such as scarcity of water resources and inequitable distribution of health service providers with poor health system.
